About Me

Currently, I'm awaiting the Feb. 2 release of my historical novel, HONOR AMONG OUTCASTS (DarkHorse Trilogy, Book 2), a mystery/thriller about bravery and friendship set in Civil War Missouri. Read about it - then pre-order! http://www.edprotzel.com/honor-among-outcasts-darkhorse-trilogy-book-2-by-ed-protzel/

In all, have completed three novels, five original screenplays for feature film and developed scripts/projects for 20th Century Fox, one of which was optioned. My most recently acquired novel, THE ANTIQUITIES DEALER, to be published by TouchPoint Press later this year, is a futuristic mystery/thriller about a Jewish antiquities gallery owner drawn by his former lover into a scheme to clone the great minds of history—beginning with Jesus Christ.

My other published books include THE LIES THAT BINDS (DarkHorse Trilogy, Book 1), a Southern Gothic mystery set in antebellum Mississippi. The final book in the trilogy, SOMETHING IN MADNESS, to be released next year, takes place in the South during Reconstruction.

While writing, I worked for over twenty years as an investments advisory manager for Fortune 100 firms. My expertise as a novelist and screenwriter is steeped in the American tragicomedy movement (Faulkner, Twain, Tennessee Williams, Flannery O’Connor), science fiction, Shakespeare, and a variety of historical periods, including World War II, the American Civil War, and Fourteenth-Century Europe.

I have a Master’s degree in English Literature/Creative Writing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a B.A. in English from the University of Hawaii, West Oahu. Find me at: http://www.edprotzel.com
