The need for printed circuit board cloning or simply called PCB clone comes about a variety of reasons. The prime reason to do PCB clone is the need to replace an obsolete PCB that is no longer available from the original manufacturer.

Missing manufacturing files such as Gerber files are often cited as the main reason. Another reason to do PCB clone is the cost. Remove copper layer scanned, and repeat step 3 until all layers are recorded

Reverse the images taken to Gerber file (the engineering file for manufacturing)

Convert the Gerber file obtained to PCB layout design, and add all the components in the drawings according to the placement recorded

Check the layout drawing to make sure there is not open/brake circuit

Convert the layout drawing to schematic drawing

Check the schematic drawing
