The joys of writing.

Writing is not a given. Its also not something that comes easy to me. It is, however, something that I love deeply. When a story grabs me by the short and curlies and doesnt let me go, its like a creation orgasm!

One of the best things for me about writing is creating the world that the characters live in, be that real or imagined. The first thing I do is research, and read as much detail about the places I am writing about, and find as many pictures as I can to give me a feeling for the place. Oh, how I would love to visit these places in real life and describe them from first hand experience, but alas, that is not possible. But describing a place and creating the right atmosphere is as important to me as developing the characters themselves. I like to consider the environment as a character too.

And because many of my books take place during certain historical points, I delve into the history books for facts, and how I relish the thought of coming across something delicious to subvert for my story telling needs.

That is what I am doing right now. I have this book I have started to write. It is an idea I have had for some years, but I was writing Dead Camp, and then The Man Inside Me, and a few other projects got in the way. But the idea gestated in my head, and now it is starting to see the light of day. But strange things can happen when you start to write a book. New and exciting ideas come to mind...and that is what has happened here. This new book will be unlike anything I have written before. I will try to push the boundaries of the MM Paranormal genre further than I have dared so far. It may work. It may not. But hell, it will be so exciting to try!
