Writing and Reading

I love both. As a reader I am in thrall to a book where the characters are so well drawn that I need to follow their story to the end page. I know, by page 40, if I am going to continue reading.

As a writer, I hope I write novels that catch people in the way I am caught. My grandson, a student of philosophy at Liverpool University, is reading my first novel, Crocodiles And Angels, while on holiday. He texted me, I'm in love with Einna already. This was followed today by, I'm now reading the chapter about Paris. I can's wait to walk down the streets Einna describes when she is there. I texted back, the Paris chapter is the one that made your granddad say he wasn't sure he could look me in the face again!
