My book coach here in Boise, Idaho started a traveling bookstore she calls a Pop-Up Bookstore because it will pop up in different locations. At each location, she will feature one author and one artist as well as have other books available for sale from local authors in the Treasure Valley area. The Pop-Up Bookstore will usually be inside either a business with a cafeteria or snack bar or a coffee shop. My book coach wanted this way to keep the overhead down at first. August 5th was the first Pop-Up Bookstore and I was the first featured author. It served as my launch for my second book, Keys to the Shadowlands Book Two of the Indigo Traveler Series. I loved being there. Several of my friends came out to support us. The more events I do, the better I will become with talking with people I do not know. Overall, I would say the Pop-Up Bookstore was a hit. Several people, we didn't know came in and looked. Next month, we hope more will show up. This weekend, Nampa, Idaho will have the Art in the Park. My imprint, Dreaming Lizard Press, will have a booth. My author, Maya Lee, will be there with her poetry book, Tattered Wings. Maya Lee's alter ego will be making and selling her jewelry. The Art in the Park is two -day event. Marketing is a full-time job. It is very challenging to find events that fit into the budget and that can also lead to larger exposure than just being on social media. I am looking for suggestions on how to increase that exposure so I can reach my readers where they are at.
